Elaine F. Sawicki

PAWTUCKET - Elaine F. Sawicki 91, passed away Sunday Oct. 7, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Benney J. Sawicki. They were married for 60 years. Born in Norwich, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Lester J. and Florence (Nelson) Newton. She was a resident of Waterview Villa in East Providence, and was formerly of Pawtucket. Before retiring Elaine was a manager for the former Korbs Bakery of Armistice Boulevard in Pawtucket. She was a member of the St. Leo's Spirited Seniors of Pawtucket and was active in many civic groups. Mrs. Sawicki is survived by four loving children Elaine Puhacz and her husband John of Rumford, Dianne Sawicki and her husband Miguel Mota of Cranston, Charles J. Sawicki and his companion Paula Brito of Providence and Richard J. Sawicki and his wife Linda of Cranston; six devoted grandchildren Katherine Mueller, Matthew Sawicki, Michael Puhacz, Allyson Sawicki - Davis, Dane and Devan Henderson. She also leaves six cherished great grandchildren Landon, Milo, Harper, Henry, Braydon and Wyatt, nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Nicholas Puhacz. Her funeral will be held Thursday Oct. 11, at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Prayer Service in the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends welcomed to attend. Calling hours Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
