GENEVIEVE A. (SZTABA) WALEK

95, passed away Sunday January 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond M. Walek, Lt. Pawtucket, RI Fire Department.

Born in Central Falls, RI she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Koziol) Sztaba. She lived in Pawtucket, RI most of her life.

Before retiring Mrs. Walek was employed as a Secretary for Dr. Roland Bergeron for 30 years. She was later employed as a Bookkeeper for the former Hospital Trust Bank of Pawtucket, RI.

Mrs. Walek was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church of Central Falls, RI and a member of the Church Holy Rosary Society. She was a former racehorse owner and a member of the New England Horsemen's Association, Providence, RI Chapter of the American Institute of Banking, and the former Hospital Trust Club. She is survived by her loving family, Deborah A. Walek Armbrust and her husband Steven of East Greenwich, RI, Thomas R. Walek MD and his wife Debra Dale Walek MD of North Kingston, RI. six devoted grandchildren, Katherine Armbrust, Amanda Armbrust - Asselin, Steven Armbrust DMD, Erick Armbrust, Randall and Jordan Walek, two great grandchildren, Finn and Archer Asselin, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Agnes Zabek, Julia Stegnick, Veronica Rogala, Catherine Staba, Helen Luis, John, Stanley, Walter, Edward and Leo Staba,

The funeral for Mrs. Walek will be held Thursday January 20, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls, RI at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Calling hours Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
