Pawtucket - Lawrence S. Rzepecki, 79, Passed away Friday January 31, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helena (Gajda) Rzepecki.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Stephen and Aniela (Sroka) Rzepecki.
Larry was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy, Providence College and did extensive studies in Mathematics and Financial Management at Boston College and Bryant University.
Before his retirement, Larry was employed by the Department of Defense in Boston, MA for 44 years. He was also the Owner and Director of Smithfield Summer School for 22 years as he was a Certified Secondary High School Mathematics teacher.
Mr. Rzepecki was on the Board of Directors of Hanscom Federal Credit Union since 1979, serving in Executive positions and holding positions as Chairman on many of the committees of the Credit Union. Prior to that, he audited Federal Credit Unions and was a treasurer of 2 Credit Unions early in his career. Larry was a Trustee for many years at St. Joseph's Church Central Falls.
Larry spoke fluent Polish and was very involved with the Polish community. He was a member and held various positions with the Pulaski Mutual Aid Society of Central Falls. RI. Larry was also the Treasurer of the Rhode Island Polonia Scholarship Foundation for many years.
As he loved the summer community of Buttonwoods (Warwick, RI) where he and Helena spent summers, he was a Trustee of the Buttonwoods Camping Association.
Besides his wife of 46 years, Larry is survived by his loving children, Stefanie Rzepecki of Boston, MA, Diane (Rzepecki) Ferris and her husband Michael of Milton, MA, and one son, Gregory Rzepecki of Pawtucket, RI, and daughter Kimberly Rzepecki of Andover, MA. He also leaves his grandsons Cole and Teddy Ferris and Will and Peter Spellman. He was the brother of the late William Rzepecki. His Funeral will be held Saturday February 8th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls, RI. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
Calling Hours will be held Friday February 7th 2025 from 4p.m. to 7p.m.
