PAWTUCKET - Mitchell E. Skoczylas 88, passed away Wednesday May 18, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Mildred M. (Kasek) Skoczylas. Born in Central Falls he was a son of the late Wincenty and Catherine (Kowal) Skoczylas. He lived in Pawtucket for the past 48 years. He was formerly of Central Falls. Before retiring Mitchell was the former owner of Central Falls Provision Co. of Central Falls for many years. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving as a Technician Fifth Grade Finance Clerk with the 134th Finance Disbursement Section. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post #79 both of Central Falls. Besides his wife he is survived by three loving children Jean K. Sand and her husband David of Andover, Ma, Stephen M. Skoczylas and his wife Madelyn of New York City and Paul V. Skoczylas and his wife Marie of Attleboro, MA. He also leaves six devoted grandchildren and two cherished great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Isabelle Carline and Edward Skoczylas. His funeral with Military Honors will be held Friday May 27, 2016. CALLING HOURS ARE RESPECTFULLY OMITTED. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
