SMITHFIELD - Phyllis H. Bielecki 91, passed away Friday December 25, 2020. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Eugene (Gene) A. Bielecki.
Born in Fall River, MA she was a daughter of the late Stanislaus and Agatha (Bielecki) Pianka. Phyllis lived in Smithfield, RI for the past 44 years and was formerly of Central Falls, RI.
Phyllis was known as Gene's best co-pilot. Her energy and activities were rooted in her family, faith, and special friendships. Although life's journey took Phyllis on different paths, Phyllis' kept family, faith, and friends with her on every path.
Phyllis supported her family as it grew through a variety of jobs and as a homemaker.
Phyllis' family focus shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her desire to see her great grandchildren grow and see the addition of her first great-granddaughter motivated her through health challenges.
Phyllis enjoyed time spent looking over the water in her backyard, imagining figures in the cloud shapes, and going on mystery rides with her daughter and primary caregiver, Cindy, and friends. She loved being in style and looking her best.
Phyllis and Gene enjoyed many adventures together: traveling, visiting family, and playing cards with friends. The strength of Phyllis' faith was instrumental in guiding her through many of life's challenges, including the loss of Gene in 2015. Phyllis was fortunate to fill at least part of the void from Gene's loss, with special friendships created within the community and church parishes. The friendships positively impacted Phyllis' life and provided the opportunity for home visits, outings, sharing of special foods, and healthcare when needed.
Phyllis was fortunate to have her life touched by many over the years and many were fortunate to have Phyllis touch their lives. Phyllis' life journey reflects a life well lived on earth and an unwavering faith in eternal life with the Lord.
Phyllis was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Central Falls, RI and involved with St. Michael's church in Smithfield, RI following her move to the town in 1972. The support she received from Father Dariusz and Father Valentine over the years meant a lot to her. Phyllis felt blessed to have spoken and prayed with Father Dariusz in Polish and to have an in home blessing by Father Valentine.
Phyllis is survived by her loving family Cindy Bielecki and her husband John Godyn and Brian Bielecki and his wife Andrea; five grandchildren - Dylan and Tyler Godyn, Jessica Bielecki and husband Randy Fulk, Brian Bielecki and his wife Meredith, and Matthew Bielecki and his wife Angela; six great grandchildren - Alexander, Jacob, Declan, Aidan, Luca, and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews.
