RICHARD J. ("RICK") KOKOSZKA

KOKOSZKA, RICHARD J., "Rick", 78, formerly of Puritan Rd., Buzzards Bay, MA passed away Friday September 23, 2022 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, MA, after struggling with cancer for 19 years. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette C. (Jerue) Kokoszka for 56 years. Born in Providence, RI he was a son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Krzywicki) Kokoszka. Rick graduated from Bryant University Class of 1970. He was employed at Groton Shipyard in Connecticut as a test mechanic and contract negotiator, later working at Honeywell, Loral, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems International. He traveled to Cairo, Egypt, Tokyo, Japan and throughout the US negotiating and administering contracts with foreign and domestic governments. He enjoyed swimming as a New England champion swim team member for Cranston East High School from 1958 - 1962. Richard was the lifeguard at Acadia State Park in RI. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fisherman. Along with his wife he loved boating and his waterfront home on Buttermilk Bay in Bourne, MA. Besides his wife, he is survived by two devoted daughters, Jean A. K. Feeney and her husband John F. Feeney of Foster, RI, and Linda M. Kokoszka and her fiance Richard Freitas of North Attleboro, MA. He is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Patrick, Emily, and Erin Feeney, and Alyx, and Sean Perez. His Funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home, 342 High St. Central Falls, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 391 High St. Central Falls, RI at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY FROM 4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Memorial Donations in Mr. Kokoszka's name to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
