RICHARD M. SOROKA

Richard M. Soroka 71, passed away Tuesday June 13, 2023. He was the son of the late Leo F. and Anna "Angie" (Haczynski) Soroka.

 Born in Pawtucket, he was a lifelong resident of Cumberland. Mr. Soroka was a Math Teacher for the East Providence School Department before retiring.

 Rich was a free-spirited soul who took on many passions. Not only was he a dedicated teacher, father, and husband, Rich was also a Class Advisor, Baseball Coach, a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Master, and the family Mechanic for his sons motorcross racing.

  Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his two boys and his good friends, Steve and Jim. He kept busy tending to his vegetable garden and his indoor plant collection. Rich was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his life experiences. Rich made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed.

  He is survived by two sons, Leo R. Soroka of Cumberland, Luke E. Soroka and his Fiance Jill Grochowski of North Providence, one brother Ronald L. Soroka of Vermont. He was the former husband of Michele L. Shea.

  At Richard's request a private funeral was held.
