Pawtucket - Victor E. Buba, 85 passed away Sunday March 9, 2025.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late William and Stella (Chmura) Buba Sr.
He earned a Bachelor of Music from the Boston Conservatory of Music in 1962 and then earned a Master of Music Education from Columbia University Teachers College in 1970.
Mr. Buba was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving from 1962 to 1984.
He was a U.S. Army Bandsman and played at West Point from 1962 to 1972 and then played in Washington D.C. from 1972 to 1984.He performed in concert and ceremonial events in Washington D.C. at the White House, Arlington Cemetery and at sporting events for the Cadets. He also played for the Rhode Island Philharmonic orchestra in 1956 and the National Symphony Orchestra from 1984 to 2000. He studied Flute Technique and Theory under the late John Burgess.
Mr. Buba is survived by his brother Richard E. Buba of Reston, VA. He was the brother of the late William Buba Jr.
His Funeral will be held Monday March 24, 2025 at 8:30 AM from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Prayer Service in the Funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
